Quickly Create Your Personal Branding Statement With Free Tool

Let’s say you unexpectedly receive a phone call from a hiring manager or recruiter who wants to phone screen you now for that great job you recently applied for.

OK, you’re a bit shaken and at a loss for words, but what do you say?

How do you describe yourself in a quick and memorable way that’s easy and natural, yet compelling and most importantly, sets you apart from your competition?

I use the term “personal brand” because it’s all the rage in the job search and career development circles these days. It’s also called a “Unique Selling Proposition”, a short, specialized message that describes the very essence of what you offer.

It’s very similar to the “elevator pitch” and is something every job seeker should develop for him or herself, continually perfecting it until it’s just right. It can make a big difference between winning a great job or just being an also-ran.

I’ve recently discovered a free software tool that can help you build your own elevator pitch. It’s on a website called 15secondpitch.com.

Its beauty is its simplicity. This is a site devoted to helping you market yourself in 15 seconds. Whether you’re in sales, self-employed or looking for a job, you need a fast way to describe and sell yourself to your prospects. Start here and in about 5 minutes, you’ll have a nice 15 second pitch all your own to use for those phone screens as well as any networking opportunity you find yourself in.

Being one to test things before I recommend them to others, I tried this out for myself.

Go to their site (www.15secondpitch.com) then select the #2 box in the middle of the page titled “Create Your Pitch”.

The software program literally walks you through the simple 5-step process. It took me about 5 minutes total time to develop my own 15-second pitch:

“My name is Joe Turner and I’m a job search expert who provides innovative solutions to job seekers who want to win great jobs in a competitive market. As a recruiter, I helped hundreds of people land some of the greatest jobs of their careers. You can get free job search tips to help catapult your own job search at www.jobchangesecrets.com.”

So, why be at a loss for words?

This is a great way to immediately establish yourself as a talented, achievement-oriented player on your phone interviews.
