Normally I don’t advertise other people’s blog pieces here, but this is a good info post from Chris Russell over at Secrets of the Job Network. Chris runs my radio programs over at his JobRadio.fm site, so it’s only fair that I share this one from Chris.
Whether you’re new to job search or you’ve been at it awhile, you already know about the major job boards Monster, HotJobs, CareerBuilder, etc. However, there are literally hundreds of smaller job boards you may not be familiar with. Many are niche players that focus on a specific industry or profession. They charge employers considerably less to post jobs and specialty recruiters will frequent these sites more often than the majors.
If yours is a recognized profession, you have a specialty job title, you have a professional association, a professional certification or yours is a well known job title, chances are there are several niche job boards devoted exclusively to your job title.
How to find them?
Here is where Chris’ article comes in. Chris provide links to 9 different directories you can use to locate several niche sites that might apply to you. He also give some great advice on how to spot the better sites out there.
